Interval International allows you to exchange for over 2,000 resort destinations world wide. Therefore if you are interested in going to places other than your home resort it’s advisable to maintain your I.I membership. In addition to exchanging your week Interval also offers many other travel related benefits including additional weeks for you to take at whole sale rates.
As your managing agent we are more than happy to help you facilitate your exchanges. You may call us at anytime so we can assist you and make your arrangements easier. Of course you may also contact Interval International directly, however we recommend that you allow us to be involved in your exchanges to maximize your vacation opportunities.
Typically once the week is deposited into Interval International or for In-house use, the week is valid for up to two years.
September 15 is the cut off for all members to deposit their USE week. Either In-house or with Interval International.
Alpenland St. Johann is 35 miles away from Salzburg. The closet major airport for guests to fly into is in Salzburg, which is approximately a 45 min drive from the hotel. Otherwise many guests fly into Munich, Germany, which is approximately a 21/2-hour drive to the hotel.
If you wish to rent a car and drive to the Sport Hotel from the Munich Airport you must first follow the signs "Alle Richtungen" until you find the E53 to Munchen and Salzburg. Stay on this Autobahn until you get to the Autobahnkreuz A9 to Salzburg. Keep on going until you get to the Autobahnkreuz Brunntal to the A8 direction to Salzburg.
Stay on the A8 to Salzburg. As you enter Austria, the Autobahn splits again and you will want you follow the direction Villach on the A10. You should then pass Salzburg - Sud - Hallein - Kuchl- Golling-Werfen. At the Autobahnausfahrt (Exit) - Bischofshofen you will leave the Autobahnand follow the signs to St. Johann im Pongau. The hotel is located in the center of St. Johann im Pongau.

The currency that is used in Austria is the Euro dollar. There are several banks located in town (walking distance) to exchange currency. These banks are Bawag, Sparkasse, and Hypo.
If the banks are closed, guests can exchange their currency at the reception of the hotel.
The town of St. Johann is packed with shops ranging from clothing stores to sports stores to tiny meat and cheese shops. Adelsberger is the large department store in town, which carries a selection of trendy European fashion. Kerschbaumer Intersport offers everything you could think of for ski season and even in the summer when it's time to go hiking. Owners get a 10% discount on non-sale items at Intersport Kerschbaumer.
The historic city of Salzburg is only a short drive away. Salzburg is one of the best cities in Central Europe for shopping. Whether you’re looking for lederhosen or a pair of designer pants you can be sure to find it there. Don’t forget to visit the outdoor markets located in the center of town. Fresh fruits, flowers, meats and cheeses as well as souvenirs are sold there.
Alpenland Hotel has five restaurants within the premises of the resorts. These restaurants are the Wintergaarden, Pongaur Stube, DaMateo Pizzeria, the Gourmet Room, and the Heuringer. All of these restaurants with the exception of DaMateo pizzeria offer fine Austrian cuisine.
Feeling adventurous? Travel up to an alm to experience a traditional Austrian Yauza platter made by the farmers. Also take advantage of the steakhouses/farmhouses located throughout the mountains. Salzburg is nearby if you're looking for more of an international cuisine or want to enjoy traditional Austrian wiener schnitzel and spatzel .
Wally’s Bier Pub, located in the hotel, is a favorite among guests as well as the locals. Try one of the 11 beers on tap. St. Johann has several local bars, which stay open until the sun comes up. People of all ages are seen out mixing together at the bars. There is also, Studio 31, a disco in the hotel and a local dance club. There is much entertainment in Salzburg. One doesn’t have to look hard to attend always a concert featuring classical music of the great composers. Different themed bars are located along the river in downtown Salzburg. Another form or entertainment is the Salzburg Casino. Don’t confuse the appearance of the building with the other castles located nearby. A passport is needed to enter and proper dress attire is required.
St. Johann is immersed in a land full of history and natural wonders. Visit the highest point in Europe to see the world famous glacier, Grob Glockner. Walk through the Leichtenstein Klamm to admire the waterfalls or crawl through the ice caves. If history is one of your interests Hitler’s summer home, Berchtesgarden, is a short drive from the hotel. Another popular trip to take is the Sound of Music tour!

Alpenland St. Johann offers a wide range of outdoor activities both in the winter and the summer. St. Johann is located in one of the largest skiing areas of all Austria. In the winter, most guests spend their time skiing the Austrian Alps. Tobogganing during the day and at night is another way to enjoy the wintry outdoors. An ice skating rink is also located in St. Johann.
There is much to do in the summer in St. Johann. Hike up the mountains to see breath taking views and enjoy the beauty of mature along the way. Want to have fun? Experience summer tobogganing or visit the Salt mines. If you would like to stay on the resort take advantages of the tennis courts and swimming pool.
Computers are located next to the reception across from the Information desk for guests to use. A fee is required to access the Internet.
The majority of the channels available at the resort are in German. Guests are able to get CNN, Sky One (British TV. network), Sky news, and MTV in English. A French and an Italian channel are also available on the televisions.
Summers in Austria are warm and sunny with cooler nights. It does get hot but remember that you are in the mountains so there is not extreme heat. Winters in Austria get very cold. It is recommended to bring warm clothing if you are visiting during the winter months.
A Catholic Church is located in the town of St. Johann. Please check at the reception for mass times.
Central Standard Time+ 7 hours is the time difference. Clocks in Austria go by military time.
